Syracuse DL named to midseason Freshman All-America team

Syracuse, N.Y. — One of the most pleasant surprises for Syracuse football during a season full of them to this point has been the play of true freshman defensive tackle Maraad Watson.
Watson, who committed to Syracuse shortly after decommitting from Kent State in December, was named a Midseason True Freshman All-American by the recruiting website 247 Sports on Thursday. Watson said at the time that his final two schools were Syracuse and Tennessee, with a number of other Power-Four programs expressing interest.
